Day Four: Traffic Generators (1)

The Traffic Generators are programs that automatically and effortlessly expose
your Hit Pages to a network of 'virtual viewers' in return for your participation. Remember,
one of the great features of the FAT system is that 'quality of viewing' simply doesn't
matter because the page that gets shown (i.e. a Hit Page) is a special one designed
only to receive hits, multiply them, and transfer them to where they'll do most good.
The system works even if nobody ever reads them!
One of the most important of the currently recommended Traffic Generator programs
is covered below and more will be revealed tomorrow.
Does this heading make you wonder if the FAT system really works? I mean, haven't we
heard that online classified ads don't work any more? Relax! Frankly, it doesn't
matter whether they do or not. You are not about to post any classified ads as part of your
FAT system strategy. Instead, you are going to install a 'Free Classifieds' CGI script that
will allow other people to post to their ads on your Fat Website—and
every time they do they will generate multiple hits to your Hit Pages.
Will the simple act of allowing casual visitors to post ads turn your site into a traffic
and leads generating supersite? Of course not, but you're also going to
register your 'Free Classifieds' page with several automatic submission networks and this
will result in thousands of hits a month! Click here

To download your free script, click here and scroll to the bottom of the page (where it says
"Download your free version copy"). Follow the instructions for downloading and
installing the script. No further advice is necessary since, as you'll see, if you have any
problems they will install it for you!
Once your classifieds script is installed you'll need to configure it, so follow their
(and our) guidelines and you'll be up and running in no time.
Under Email Config, make sure that the SendMail path is correct. It should
look something like this: /usr/sbin/sendmail. Check with your ISP if you don't know it.
Next, enter your email address and full name. These must be valid; if they're not,
you won't get any hits!
Under Site Config, enter the URL of the home page of the site where your
classifieds script is installed and a name for your 'Free Classifieds' page, such as Yoursite
Free Classifieds or something similar. This will appear at the top of all your
classified pages.
Leave 'Image for TOP AD' and 'Image Link for TOP AD' blank as we have
another way of inserting an ad here, as you'll see a little further down.
Next, under 'Paid Ad Link to a WEBPAGE to Accept Money for Ads AND/OR a popup html page after an ad is placed' insert the full URL to your hitpage2.html
Hit Page. This is a vital step and will result in many hits to that page. Just
ignore the "Accept Money for Ads" bit mentioned above, as that will not apply to
you.
Make sure that 'BEST-HOST Webhosting Banner?' is unchecked. The same goes
for 'Show Commissions Link to Power Submitter'. These links produce popups that might
interfere with your FAT system popups if you were to allow them.
Do not enter a URL in 'Image for top ad' if you have a banner ad you'd like
displayed on the 'Free Classifieds' pages. There is a better way to do this together of
course with your 'Link for top ad'. This is one of those places where you could give
the URL of your FAT banner, for example.
Leave 'Email Copy of all NEW Ads' blank, otherwise you'll be swamped with
unnecessary emails.
Very Important: be sure to put "Yes" in 'Allow addition to
submissions software...?'. This is where the vast majority of your hits will come from!
Do enter a short promo in 'Top Message in Ad Posted Email', and a different
one in 'Bottom Message in Ad Posted Email'. The same goes for 'Top Message in Ad
Expired & "Send Ad To A Friend" Email' and 'Bottom Message in Ad
Expired & "Send Ad To A Friend" Email'. These two ads will appear in all
the emails that get automatically sent to everyone who posts a classified ad at your
site and to everyone whose ad is about to expire. I recommend one text ad for the FAT system
and one for advertising your Target Page.
Under 'Banners Rotation System' enter any Page Codes of banner ads you'd
like to have shown, as you see in the example below. Be sure to separate each one with '%%'.
Do not use 'scyscrapers' or any similarly odd shapes as these will automatically rotate and
appear at the top and bottom of your classifieds pages. You can also add any that don't
appear in the FAT system too.

On completion, logout (by entering your password again), then click 'Confirm
Classified' to register your new page. On finishing that, click 'Return to classified'.
After a couple of weeks, which is the time it takes to become fully operational with the
automatic submission networks, you'll see the hit rate on your Hit Pages start to
take off.
