Day Five: Traffic Generators (2)

Contents

Overview

Here we continue with the automatic Traffic Generator programs; the 'engines' that drive the FAT system. Remember, 'quality of viewing' doesn't matter because the pages that get shown are your Hit Pages, and they are designed only to receive hits, multiply them, and transfer them to where they'll do a lot more good.

The system works even if nobody reads them!

It is important to remember that, in all these programs, you need to set the appropriate Hit Page as the webpage you are promoting (not your Target Page). This is absolutely vital. The appropriate one is that which allows you the maximum return so be sure to promote hitpage2.html if two popups are allowed, hitpage1.html (or hitpage1a.html) if only one is permissible, or hitpage0.html if none are.

Screensaver Exchanges

These can be a powerful way to generate traffic when used with the FAT system. Whenever your computer is idle, a screensaver notches up a ceaseless flow of credits which are then used to automatically advertise your Target Page all over the Internet via your FAT system popups and banners. If you have more than one computer, you can run a different Screensaver Exchange on each and maximize even more downtime. Or perhaps you could devote an old computer to one, provided it has an Internet connection, and run it 24 hours a day!

ScreenBlaze has the most users and a deeper downline but is older and less well-maintained than ScreenExplosion. As a result it's occasionally prone to showing sites which will try to infect your computer with viruses or other malware. Take heed of what was said in the introduction to this tutorial!

ScreenExplosion has a better 'views to hits' ratio and is well maintained, as you would expect with a fairly new program. I still see some users getting away with breaking the rules though.

Whichever you choose, enter the path to hitpage2.html as your site's URL (ScreenBlaze) or hitpage0.html (ScreenExplosion) and choose either Business and Marketing, Webmaster World or Computers and Internet as the appropriate category (personally, I alternate between them).

Stacked Ad Exchanges

Each of these is different in detail but the underlying principle remains the same. Just follow the instructions given on each joining page. Your target URL should be hitpage1.html or hitpage1a.html and you should have one or two suitable text ads to hand; e.g. "Get all the website hits you want—FREE" etc. (See Day One for more ideas.) Since most of these types of programs require people to view the pages linked to from each listed advert before joining, you may think that the actual wording of the ad is irrelevant. To a degree that may be true but I would advise that you should try to come up with a strong and compelling headline to pull more people in than you would otherwise and to help you to individually promote them. Keep them within 20 words, or about 150 characters.

In the case of BannerMatrix, you will find that, as well as the 'stacked ad exchange', a number of other very useful traffic-generating programs such as a type of banner exchange, a surf exchange, etc are on offer. After setting up your FAT system, you should return there to make full use of them. For the 'Linkbox', you need to join TrafficSwarm, which is basically an excellent manual 'surf exchange'. I suggest that you convert your Home Page to a TrafficSwarm Start Page as well; it is not part of the FAT system but it will effortlessly earn credits that will automatically advertise your Target Page for you too.

Where more than one target URL is allowed, set the first one as above and the second one to hitpage2.html. Click the following links to join these programs:

Autosurf Exchanges

The name says it all: just start them and then carry on with your work. Well, maybe not quite! It really is necessary to monitor them for problems, and these do occur from time to time. Persistent popups, message dialogs, frame breakers etc can stop the automation process dead in its tracks. Also, some of the exchanges themselves include devices, such as questionnaires or contests with prizes, to make sure you really are viewing the websites rotating in their network. And some will only autosurf a limited number of sites before requiring you to reset the rotation. On the whole though, they need very little attention.

'Two Popups' Networks

Join the two programs below by clicking on the joining links but be sure to set the target page for these to hitpage2.html. This is because they allow 2 popups so you need to take advantage of that.

'One Popup' Networks

Join the programs below by, once again, clicking on the joining links but be sure to set the target page this time to hitpage1.html for the first half and hitpage1a.html for the latter half (or whatever combination you prefer). These only allow 1 popup each so these are the appropriate Hit Pages.

'No Popups' Networks

These programs don't allow any popups so it is vital that hitpage0.html is the page you set as the target URL. Join them by clicking on the following joining links.
