Autosurfing Schedule
Tabbed Browsers
A surfing schedule is important for keeping control of your traffic generating activities and this is an area where tabbed browsers really excel. Tabbed browsing means that you can run a number of different programs at once without resorting to a proliferation of open windows. Here are the two most popular ones, both of which are particularly good for 'surfing for credits', though there are others.
Firefox
This very popular browser (the one we recommend and that was recently estimated to now hold over 10% of the total browser market) has a very sophisticated Bookmarks feature that allows you to open all the URLs in a folder with one mouse click. Creating and using Bookmarks folders is simplicity itself. Everything is organized within the Manage Bookmarks section. Simply create a folder and call it Autosurf Exchanges or something similar and then add a series of subfolders with meaningful names (e.g. Mon, Tue, etc) and place your lists of surfing programs within the appropriate subfolders as individual Bookmarks. Base your lists around the Sample Schedule below, but modified and rearranged according to your own circumstances.
To load all the programs within a 'tab' list into Firefox ready for use, go to Bookmarks, navigate to the folder you want, and with your mouse pointer over it, go to the bottom of the list and click Open All in Tabs. Those programs that have 'auto-login' codes will automatically log you in and some will even take you straight to their 'surfbar'. Others will take you to their Home Page and require that you login manually.
Internet Explorer 7
Microsoft's new Internet Explorer is also excellent for surfing for traffic credits. It has a similar facility to Firefox that it calls Tab Groups and organizing and using them is just as easy.
A Simple Surfing Schedule
Either browser will comfortably accommodate a dozen or so open Tabs but 6 to 8 is the most efficient number for anyone with a slow connection (dialup) or an average to slow computer. If you have broadband and/or a powerful computer (fast processor plus more than 256 megabytes of memory) you might want to try using more programs per group.
Obviously, the more you surf the greater the return. You can do as much or as little as you like but the results will always reflect the amount of time you allocate for it. If you're doing this as a part-time hobby and can only spare two or three evenings a week for a couple of hours at a time, then rearrange these schedules accordingly. Remember though that, in most cases, you can work on other things (provided they're not too CPU intensive) whilst autosurfing. You just need to keep an eye on them from time to time.
The two suggested Tab Folders below are arranged so that the easy programs to run are in the first group. The second contains the more work-intensive ones, i.e. those that cannot be left alone for long without supervision. These are just to give you ideas for how you might want to plan your own schedules. How you arrange your programs and what you call your own Tab Folders is entirely up to you.
Important Note: If you joined some or all of our recommended programs and decide to copy our schedules below, make sure you remember to change the Surf Links to your own, as supplied by each Traffic Exchange network program you joined, otherwise you'll be notching up credits for the owner of these Surf Links instead of your own. They are only included here to give you a proper feel of what your Tab Folders should look like and the data you need for them.
